Lightbulb International Desi FenderBender -- Why Dash Cam's are a boon???

Just stumbled upon this video and popularity brought this video
back which was earlier taken off from the original who posted this incident on the interstate

These dash cam's prove a lot when car owners(road ragers)
don't accept their own fault and later embarrass themselves.

    Cheers

Most of the people do not accept small mistakes that they make on Highways daily, and they try to blame on others[dogs, pedestrians, cars from opposite side]. These cams will be a boon to those who feel bad to argue at public places. With these proof, one can easily sort out the problem on Trafficated Roads unless to argue at the opposite side.

Well i think the cheapest would be some chinese markers.
But still as long as it serves purpose it would be worth while investing ...
in a gps based dashcam device

    ^^^

Cab's with dash cam's ??? I doubt the implementation with the mandate via IRDA being too soon.

However this will rule an upper hand for most private vehicles / Roadies for their own safety.

Re: International Desi FenderBender -- Why Dash Cam's are a boon???

I got myself an HD Dashcam last week, during my Belgium trip. The Dashcam is from a company called Gembird, and it can record in HD with an impressive Field of View (FOV) of about 120 degrees.

    Here are the product specifications:

Just started using it three days back. Here are some sample videos from the Dashcam:

I was thinking about buying a dashcam. Can you tell me more about it. Where you bought it and how much it costs.

Re: International Desi FenderBender -- Why Dash Cam's are a boon???

Had a narrow escape from an accident today - an idiot biker just made a right turn without any indications. He claimed that he had the indicator ON, but when I showed him the Dashcam, it made him scoot the scene !!

There was this biker whose swerving to the right initially looked like an attempt to overtake the bike in front of him, so I changed my lane to right in order to pass them safely. I even honked from a safe distance to let them know of my presence.

Only after few more seconds I realized that the idiot biker is actually trying to turn right, without indicator or hand signal.

After stopping, he came to me for an argument. Here's the translation:

Biker: "Didn't you see my indicator?"
Me: "No, there was no indicator."
Biker: "Yes I turned it ON and then started turning!"
Me: (Pointing to Dash cam): "Look at this.. it was recording everything"
    Biker: (Left the scene)

A review of the footage made it clear that he swerved without turn indicator or hand signal. Even with an indicator, such a quick and absent-minded turn would have proved fatal to him.

First scenario where Dashcam was little helpful.
